WHO: Nepal no more in high risk zone for contagion
Kathmandu: Nepal is no more in the high risk zone for the deadly Coronavirus according World Health Organization (WHO) on Saturday.
WHO sources said Nepal has been removed from the high risk zone list of the countries that are likely to suffer from the global COVID-19 pandemic after it assessed the impact of COVID-19 in Nepal, though Nepal still remains in the risk zone.
The assessment was based on the government’s preventive measures including shutdown and social distance adopted to curb the COVID-19 after it broke out in Wuhan of China last December.
Earlier, WHO had placed Nepal in the list of high risk zone as soon as China and India the neighboring countries started falling a prey to COVID-19.
Nepal has now 37 active cases of COVID-19 as 12 patients have already been discharged from the hospitals.
