COVID-19 deaths among Nepali diaspora spike to 49 & 1,983 infected across the globe
Kathmandu: As many as 49 Nepalis staying abroad in 24 foreign countries have succumbed to COVID-19, while 1,983 have been inflicted with the deadly contagion across the Nepali diaspora outside Nepal according to Non-Resident Nepalis Association (NRNA) on Sunday.
The NRNA sources said COVID-19 killed 33 Nepalis in the UK, 10 in the US, 2 in the U.A.E and one each in Ireland, Japan, Turkey and the Netherlands.
A total of 1,983 Nepalis have so far tested positive for the deadly virus across the world, Of which 1000 are in the US, 700 in the UK, 12 in Spain, 81 in the UAE, 49 in Bahrain, 4 in Germany, 27 in Portugal, 22 in Ireland, 11 in Australia, 6 in Belgium, 4 in Saudi Arabia, 42 in Kuwait, and one in France, 2 in Japan, 3 in Malaysia, 3 in Canada, 3 in New Zealand, 3 in Cyprus Myanmar, 2 in Malta, one in France and 2 in Hong Kong have been infected by the virus while a total of 434 Nepalis have recovered from the deadly virus.
