COVID-19 confirmed cases spike to 54
Kathmandu: The total number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in Nepal has risen to 54 after two more new cases were detected in Rautahat.
Online media quoting Rautahat district health official Tuesday said, 24 years old male from Vrindaban municipality- 1 and another male who is 35 years and hails from Devahi municipality-1 of Rautahat tested positive for the deadly virus after their swab samples were tested in Kathmandu based lab.
Both the virus infected males had come to Nepal from Kolkata and Delhi respectively during the lock-down period.
Earlier, the two patients had tested negative for the virus at Janakpur when tested through PCR method and both were sent home. However their swabs were sent to Kathmandu lab under some suspicion which proved to be positive after test said the officials.
The Ministry of Health and Population has confirmed the two new cases of the lethal virus. 16 case of the virus infection have been cured already. Now Nepal is sustained with 38 active cases of contagion.
