UK overtakes Spain and France with death toll soaring to 26,097 caused by COVID-19

Kathmandu:UK overtakes Spain and France with death toll soaring to 26,097 due to COVID-19.

UK recorded the third highest deaths caused by the global contagion while the US continues to report the highest deaths which is over 61,000 followed by Italy in the second place with a recorded deaths of 27,682 people as on Thursday according to John Hopkins University.

The total deaths around the globe spike to 227,247 while 971,599 have been cured from this virus infection so far.

Europe

Spain now has  fourth highest deaths toll of 24,275 while France has fifth recorded 24,087 deaths, Belgium 7,501, Netherland 4,711, Switzerland 1,716 and Sweden 2,462 deaths due to the COVID-19.

Asia

In Asia, China recorded 4,512 deaths, Japan 394, Russia 972 and South Korea 246 due to this pathogen. Malaysia reported 100 deaths, Philippines 558, Indonesia  784, and Singapore 14 people.

SAARC Region 

In the SAARC region India reported 1,079,Pakistan 343, Bangladesh 163 deaths while Srilanka recorded 7 deaths due to this lethal disease. Nepal recorded 57 confirmed cases of deadly contagion while 16 cases have been cured. Maldives recorded 1 death and 278 positive cases of which 17 cases recovered and Bhutan reported 7 positive cases of which 5 persons have recovered.

Africa

In Africa, Algeria reported 444 deaths and South Africa 103 while Egypt recorded 380 deaths due the deadly virus.

Arab countries

UA E reported 98 deaths, Qatar-10, UAE-89, and Kuwait 24 while Bahrain reported 8 deaths due to the COVID-19.
