Kathmandu: COVID-19 devoured 232,817 people globally and infected as many as 3,249,667 worldwide while 986,042 have been cured so far as on Friday.
Europe
The US recorded over 63,000 deaths, Italy 27,967, UK 26,771, Spain 24,543, France 24,376, Belgium 7,594, Netherland 4,795, Germany 6,623 and Sweden 286 and Austria 584 deaths due to COVID-19 according to Johns Hopkins University.
Asia
In Asia, China recorded 4,633 deaths, Japan 425, Russia 1,073 and South Korea 247 due to this pathogen. Malaysia reported 100 deaths, Philippines 568, Indonesia 792, and Singapore 15 people.
SAARC Region
In the SAARC region India reported 1,154 deaths,Pakistan 361, Bangladesh 168 deaths while Srilanka recorded 7 deaths due to this lethal disease. Nepal recorded 57 confirmed cases of deadly contagion while 16 cases have been cured. Maldives recorded 1 death and 278 positive cases of which 17 cases recovered and Bhutan reported 7 positive cases of which 5 persons have recovered.
Africa
In Africa, Algeria reported 450 deaths and South Africa 103 while Egypt recorded 392 deaths due the deadly virus.
Arab countries
UAE reported 105 deaths, Qatar-10, and Kuwait 26 while Bahrain reported 8 and Saudi Arab 162 deaths due to the COVID-19.
