COVID-19 cases surges to 402 in Nepal

Kathmandu: Nepal has reported a drastic upsurge in the number of COVID-19 tally which has reached 402 with 27 more new cases detected on Tuesday, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

The officials said, of the 27 virus cases detected today, 24 are males and 3 are females. Of the total 27 Coronavirus positive cases found today, 5 cases are reported from Kathmandu and one each from Lalitpur and Bhaktapur

Likewise, 9 cases are from Jhapa Morang, Nawalparasi, Sunsari, Lamjung, Ramechhap, Sindhuli and Makawanpur while Kapilvastu reported 4 cases and Sarlahi recorded 2 cases.

With this a total of 36 districts have been inflicted with the deadly epidemic and people between the age group of 17 to 42 years are the main victims of this deadly contagion.

Province no 5 has 176 active cases which is the highest number of cases, followed by Province 2 with 136 cases on record, Province 1 recording 54 cases, Bagmati province with 27 cases, Gandaki province with 4 cases, Karnali has one case, and Sudhurpaschim has 5 active cases of Coronavirus.

Nepal now sustains a total confirmed virus cases of 402 of which 37 cases have been cured with 2 fatalities reported so far.
