Tourism entrepreneurs demand govt to redress ailing tourism industry

Kathmandu: The tourism entrepreneurs have demanded the government to redress the ailing tourism industry through special programs related to temporary and permanent policy after the government’s policy and program unveiled could not address their demands.

Issuing a joint press statement on Monday, 12 tourism affiliated organizations drew the attention of the government to address the ailing tourism industry due to COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

“The government’s new fiscal year policy and programs announced does not address any demands of the ailing tourism industry which is hard hit by the Coornavirus pandemic. So, all tourism entrepreneurs are hopeless and shocked to know it, ” said the statement.
The statement further indicated that since the tourism industry is the only backbone of the country and the government’s call for Visit Neal 2020 has induced financial investment in tourism sector in billions by the entrepreneurs which is likely to be doomed, government should address the demands of the tourism entrepreneurs.
