Star Hotels & Resorts to be used for Quarantine for foreign returnees
Kathmandu: Star Hotels and resorts are to be used for quarantine for migrant workers about to return from foreign countries.
While speaking during a discussion program related to Coronavirus and quarantine management state minister for urban development Ram Bir Manandhar said that consultations are on to use the star hotels and resorts to put the foreign returnees under quarantine.
He said currently the government has managed 518 bed quarantine place inside the Kathmandu valley, while the whole country is managing quarantine for 65,000 persons and 25000 are already put under quarantine.
“The government is managing these quarantine places in the empty star hotels and resorts by paying certain amount of money,” said he.
He further said despite problems surfacing in the case of managing quarantine for people returning from India in Darchula, Banke, Bardiya, Jumla, Bajura, Parsa, Kailali and Kanchanpur the government will look into such problems and resolve them as all financial problems will be coordinated by the Federal government and internal management system will be managed by Nepal army.
