Seven holding Center set for Foreign returnees

Kathmandu: Nepal government has provisioned seven holding centers in the Kathmandu valley to keep the citizens evacuated from the foreign countries.

These holding centers with capacity to accommodate more than 3000 inmates will hold the foreign returnees as they arrive in Nepal before they go to their respective districts for self-quarantine and district quarantine centers.

Government decided to evacuate Nepali citizens stranded abroad due to the grim situation created by Covid-19 around the world.

The holding centers are located in Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur. Two more extra holding  centers are managed in Kathmandu and Lalitpur to cope up with the urgency of the situation.

Kathmandu and Bhaktapur holding centers can hold at least 1000 people while Lalitpur holding  centers can hold 900 people at a time.

The management of these holding  centers is overtaken by Nepal army. Kathmandu holding centers will be used to hold people of Bagmati, Gandaki and province no-5 separately.

The government has also assigned specific ministers of the provincial governments to take care of the foreign returnees.
