Airfare for chartered flights reduced

Kathmandu: The airfare for chartered flights for Nepal Airlines Corporations (NAC) has been reduced by $100 with effect from Saturday according to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation.

The airfare revision was done in consultation with the Himalaya Airlines amidst growing demand among the Nepali passengers to fly back to Nepal from the gulf countries who are already suffering from hard time .

With the reduction of airfare prices the Nepali passengers will be paying $ 100 less than the previous prices for the chartered flights operated by NAC.

The NAC has fixed the airfare for 25 countries from where the stranded Nepalis will be brought to Nepal.  NAC currently has 24 flights, Himalaya Airlines has 19 and the remaining 24 flights will be operated by foreign international flights.

In the first phase at least 25,000 Nepalis will be brought to Nepal. All foreign returnees will be shifted to stay in the quarantines in the holding centers arranged at hotels and resorts in Nepal prior to their departure for their respective provinces.
