India overtakes UK, Italy and Spain in virus infected cases

Kathmandu:India has overtaken UK, Italy and Spain in Covid-19 infected cases with its confirmed cases surging to as many as 343,091 and death toll reaching 9,900 on Wednesday.

The world wide Covid-19 deaths continues to rise to 440,600 and a total confirmed virus cases as many as 8.1 million with 4.2 million recoveries from this deadly epidemic according to Johns Hopkins University.

The US reported 116,854 deaths which tops the death toll, while Brazil reported the second highest death toll of 45,241 and UK recorded the third largest death toll of 42,054.

Italy reported 34,405 deaths which is the fourth highest in the world while France recorded the fifth highest death toll of 29,550 people.

Spain has the sixth highest death toll of 27,136 which is static and Mexico has the seventh highest deaths spiking to 17,580.

Nepal reported 19 deaths from Covid-19 so far with 6591 confirmed cases and recoveries as many as 1158.

Nepal’s Coronavirus cases are increasing day by day despite government efforts to contain it. In the early stage there were negligible number of cases in Nepal. But soon after the migrant workers from India, gulf countries and other European countries arrived in Nepal the Covid-19 cases have suddenly spiked to higher levels.

Nepal government’s recent decision to open shops, government offices, private offices and industries inside the districts has also paved the way for the spread of the deadly virus.
