Transport entrepreneurs urge all not to operate public vehicles in lock down
Kathmandu: Nepal Transport Entrepreneurs’ National Federation has urged all concerned not to operate public vehicles carrying passengers during the lockdown.
Federation General Secretary Punya Sitaula (Saroj) issued a press release on Wednesday evening, stating that Federation’s attention was drawn on the operation of the public vehicles at a time when the nationwide lockdown was still in effect.
“Now, it is sheer irresponsibility to carry passengers in public buses. Federation condemns it,” he stressed.
Operating public vehicles without adopting adequate safety measure is risky and highly likely to spread coronavirus.
So, even the government is requested not to use public buses for transportation, Sitaula added. He further warned that Federation would not own up the COVID-19 risk when the passengers are carried arbitrarily in the public buses (RSS).
