Ministry of Culture and Tourism Announces Awards

Kathmandu: The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has announced awards for various genres.

For social reformation campaign, the Bhagat Sarvajit Human Prestigious national award has been awarded to Navraj BK of Jajarkot posthumously.

Navraj BK along with 6 others were killed recently when his group had gone to Rukum west to fetch his lover from there.

The award was instituted in the name of the well known dignitary Sarvajit Biswakarma who had dedicated his life for social reformation, social justice, equity and Dalit liberation.

Similarly, the National Innovation Center has been awarded with 076’s Literature, Culture and Science award in the name of Puspa Lal. Mahabir Pun is the key person of this innovation center.

Likewise, Buddhi Narayan Shresth has been awarded for Culture and Bhairab Rizal awarded for Mahakabi Laxmi Prasad Devkota award in language and literature.

The veteran literary person professor Abhi Subedi has been awarded with Gopal Prasad Rimal national award in the genre of drama. All these awardees are to receive one hundred thousand rupees cash in awards.

Similarly, one each person will be awarded in each of the genres of Culture, language, Lalit arts, music and drama with one hundred thousand rupees besides Rs 50,000 cash award in each of the genres at provincial level too.

Mahakabi Devkota award will be given to five writers each on poetry, essay, prose, child literature and folk literature respectively.
