Flying over EU skies barred for Nepal Airlines

Kathmandu: Nepal Airlines has been barred from flying over European skies stating that Nepal’s air safety status is still not up to the mark

The European Aviation Agency barred Nepal airlines from flying into the 28 nation skies of Europe saying that Nepal could not improve its aviation safety in the last seven years too.

The officials say this European ban on Nepali airlines including Nepal airlines corporation and Himalaya airlines will be unable to make chartered flights to Europe and rescue the stranded Nepalis from European countries even during the Covid-19 pandemic phase.

The EU had banned Nepal airlines in 2013 showing the reasons of air safety. However, the ban was removed in 2017. Nepal will have to revise its civil aviation policies to get removed from the ban list of EU in future.
