Kathmandu: Nepal’s entry border point to China Rasuwagadhi is going to be opened from Monday.
According to Rasuwa Customs Office, Punya Biktram Khadka, initially four trucks will be allowed to move across the border of Nepal and China from this entry point, then the number will be increased accordingly.
Nepal usually imports Chinese readymade garments, electronic gadgets, fruits and equipment from this entry point. The closure of this entry point has adversely affected Nepal in the construction of airports and Hydropower projects in the dearth of supply of materials and equipment required.
The border point had remained closed down following Coronavirus scare for the last five months.
Both Chinese and Nepalese officials of Rasuwa Customs have already discussed about the safety protocols to be adopted while operating this border entry point due to Covid-19 pandemic.
This border entry point was established in 2015 and since then nearly 250 vehicles related to cargo and trade for export and import have been moving across this border point.
