Next four days to get torrential rain

Kathmandu: Next four days will see the heavy torrential rainfall in the country which will be maximum rainfall during this monsoon season.

The Weather forecasting official Dr. Archana Shrestha said four provinces including province one, two and Bagmati will be affected by the heavy rainfall as Monsoon will be active during this time.

The plain areas of Terai are likely to be flooded as rivers are likely to overflow with water due to heavy rain. There fore the people across plains are cautioned against risk of rain in the next four days added Shrestha.

The government has also started issuing notices to the public to remain alert against any kind of exigencies in future has heavy rain has already caused landslides at several places across the nation and caused at least 804 disasters that took the lives of 114 people.

Bajhang and Parvat had heavy landslides that caued the death of 15 people recently. The rivers such as Kankai, Koshi, Kamala, Bagmati, Narayani and its tributaries are more likely to get flooded during the next four days.

Specially, the rivers of Province one and two in Terai region are most likely to rise in spate in Morang, Jhapa, Sunsari, Saptari, Dhanusa, Mahottari, Siraha, Sarlahi, Bara, Parsa, Rautahat and Chitwan.

The people of Province 5, Karnali and Sudurpaschim also must remain alert against any natural calamities said Shrestha adding that toll free no 1149 can be used in case of any emergency due to natural disasters.
