Mt. Saipal Base Camp Trekking
Mount Saipal base camp trekking is one of the most adventurous destination for trekking for the daring trekkers in Nepal.
It is named after Mt. Saipal Himal (7031m) in western region which is the second highest mountain in the western part of Nepal. Saipal trekking means venturing into hinterlands of western parts of Nepal and observing the nature and culture in the rural setting of hills and mixing and merging with the natural surrounding shrouded in magnificent luster of beauty and nature.
Saipal trekking is one of the unexplored but bountiful trekking trail that everyone should venture to go through at least once in lifetime to relish the natural beauty in its infancy and raw nature.
Since the trekking area is less explored it remains less crowded which is why it is so serene trail for the meditative trekkers.
The trekking commences from Simikot towards the Karnali river bank through Thakuri, and Bhotia settlements. Saipal base camp trek is decorated with beautiful mountain landscape, cultural diversity, rapid rivers and pristine forests are the main attractions of this trekking.
Traditional village settings, indigenous crop fields and the age old monasteries are some of the features to watch while on this trail. It proffers an enigmatic panoramic view of Saipal Himal (7031 m) , Thado Dhunga Tuppa (5,368m.), Api Himal, Rajamba (6,537m.), Kapchuli, Mt. Nandadevi 7,817, which are situated in Uttar Pradesh of India. The rich flora and fauna add to the grandeur of the trekking trail.
To reach Saipla base camp you need to take flight from Kathmamdu to Nepalgunj and then take another flight from Nepalgunj to Simikot to begin your trekking until the Saipal base camp.
The best seasons for trekking to this remote area are Spring and Autumn.
Duration of trekking: It takes 18/19 days to trek to Saipal base camp and return.
