An artist deeply engaged in Thanka painting

A Thanka artist engaged in Thanka painting at Changu Narayan, Bhaktapur. Thanka paintings are one of  the tourism products of Nepal. This is a Tibetan tradition. It is considered to be one of the manual arts and crafts of Nepal. Thanka painting is done on a canvass of cotton clothes and is based on Buddhist philosophy.
