Nagpanchami or the day of serpents is being observed across the country today. Hindus believe that serpents also possess some divine powers. So appeasing the serpents means creating a harmonious relation between the two creatures.

Mostly Hindu religious believers worship serpent on this occasion which falls today across the country. The serpents are offered flowers and prayers so that the humanity can be blessed with peace and prosperity.

A picture of serpents is also pasted on the front door of most of the houses on this occasion to show the human veneration to the serpents so that serpents and humans can live in peace and harmony without any hostility.
