Monsoon to remain more active from Monday

Kathmandu: Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has said the ongoing monsoon rains will remain more active from coming 27 July (Monday).

In this connection, meteorologist Ganga Nagarkoti shared the monsoon will be more active with the low pressure line coming nearer to the southern plan (Terai) of the country.

The monsoon had entered into the country on June 12 this year causing heavy rainfalls across the country. The low pressure line had come closer to the country from July 9 to 13.

The torrential monsoon rain had triggered landslides and inundation inflicting a huge loss of lives and properties during the time. Meanwhile, the department has informed that the moderate and heavy rainfalls could take place in different parts of the country from coming Monday.

It has further cautioned that the landslides could occur since soil has become more fragile due to earthquake and its several aftershocks mostly in the mountainous belt (RSS).
