With 378 new cases, total tally soars to 22,592

16,313 recover and 73 die of virus infection

Kathmandu: A total of 378 new cases of COVID-19 has been reported in the country on Saturday which makes the total tally surge to 22,592.

In a regular press briefing, Spokesperson of Ministry of Health and Population, Dr.Jageshwar Gautam shared these cases were confirmed while conducting PCR test on 7,778 samples in different laboratories across the country.

Three persons died of COVID-19 in past 24 hours in the country. With this, a total number of death toll from COVID-19 has reached 73 as of today. Dr Gautam added 10,792 people are in quarantines across the country.

According to the Ministry, 449 returned home after complete recovery from the hospitals in the past 24 hours. With this, total number of people returning home after recovery today has reached 16, 313 which is more than 70% of total infection cases.

Nepal now has 6206 active cases of Covid-19 as of this day.It may be noted that seven districts such as Khotang, Dhankuta, Sankhuwasabha, Manang, Mustang, Dolpa and Humla are free from Coronavirus infection.

The districts that see Coronavirus more than 500 cases are Kathmandu, Mahottari, Rautahat and Parsa.
