Machhapuchhre model trek attracting tourists

Gandaki: (RSS): Machhapuchhare model trek in Pokhara is becoming a popular tourist destinations to observe the fascinating panorama of Himalaya ranges, natural beauty and pristine villages.

Visitors including both domestic as well as foreigners have increased in the recent years to enjoy trips on this model trek that falls in Kaski district’s Machhapuchhare Rural Municipality which is well replenished with natural and cultural beauty.

The Machhapuchhare model trek takes three to seven days to accomplish the trip which can be started from any parts of Dhital, Lwangghel, Dhampus, Riwan, Lahanchowk, Ghachowk and Machhapuchhre rural municipality.

Most of the tourists would prefer to trek to this mountain from Machhapuchhare rural municipaltiy. Previously, the trek to this mountain was not much favored as the locals believed that conducting trekking to Machhapuchhare peak would taint the peak and cause anger to the deity that resides on the top of the peak of Macchapuchhre.

But now the locals are in favor of promoting trekking to this touristic spot and there by enhance the local economy and create jobs for many unemployed youths.

The Machhapuchhre model trek can offer a good opportunity to see glimpses of more than ten Himals including Annapurna south, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV, Gandharv Himal, Annapurna I, Buddha Himal and Mardi Himal.

Since 2005 only the steps were taken to initiate the model trek of this region for the development of the tourism under the leaderships of tourism operators of this region.

The famous model trek also has homestays all along the trekking route to  provide organic food to the visitors and make their journey a memorable one.

The Gandaki government’s tourism Ministry also has supported the construction of roads along this model trek to make it feasible for the tourism operators to attract more tourists to make this region more vibrant with life.
