Bahrain Prince to visit Nepal for Lobuche and Manaslu expedition
Kathmandu: Nepal government has permitted a team of 18 climbers comprising of Bahrain prince including 15 members and three British nationals to climb Manaslu and Lobuche peaks.
According to government’s spokesperson Dr. Yubraj Khatiwada, the cabinet meeting held on Sunday decided to formally allow the Bahrain team of climbers to visit Nepal and embark on the expedition.
“The Ministry of Health and Population has permitted the team to come to Nepal by following all possible safety protocols through chartered aircraft,” said Khatiwada.
This is the first expedition to Himal after the country was hard hit by Coronavirus pandemic. The Himal expedition has come to a grinding halt after climbing permits were stopped and regular flights suspended.
