Kathmandu: Gandaki government has started initiating discussion from various angles as to how to manage the crowd of domestic tourists increasing at Manhukot at Tanahun Vyas Municipality-5.

Gandaki Province Visit Year Coordinator and tourism expert Juddha Bahadur Gurung has recommended that tourist area could be managed with the support of cooperatives by involving the local community.

Gurung, who has recently visited the tourist area of Manhukot and met with various local stakeholders has said that handing over the management of the area to the local community for their benefit and development would be better option for management of that area.

Speaking to highlightstourism, Mr Gurung also said, “In our context, this is something new thought. This concept of management will give ownership and benefit to the local community through cooperative, otherwise, the whole benefit will be taken by the outside businessmen.”
