10 community homestays of Baglung receiving grants
Baglung: Gandaki Provincial government has started providing grants to 10 community home-stay of Baglung district. Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment of the Province has selected 10 home-stays, out of 28 in the district, to provide grant for infrastructure development.
As per the notice of the Ministry, nine home-stays have already been selected while another one is yet to be selected. A total of Rs 10 million grant would be provided to 10 home-stays in the fiscal year 2020/21 to make the home-stay systematic and promote rural tourism.
Each home-stay would get Rs 1 million grant, according to Dilliram Rijal, Chief of Tourism Department of the Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment of Gandaki Province.
He said, “The home-stay will be tourism-friendly as well as the facility of home-stay will be upgraded after infrastructure construction from the grant amount.”(RSS)
Atithi Satkar community home-stay, Bhakunde community home-stay, Dota Deurali community home-stay, Madhuri Jharana community home-Stay, Siddhanath community home-stay, Sigdi community home-stay, Siddha Baraha home-stay, Kikalta community home-stay, and Nisikhola community home-stay are selected for the grant so far.
Saying it was necessary to promote home-stay to create self-employment, Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment, Bikas Lamsal, shared that the grant amount would help for promoting village tourism.
