Himal should be made basis of prosperity: Chief Minister Gurung
Speaking during a program held in Pokhara to promote the mountaineering activities, Chief Minister Gurung stressed the need to connect all Himals to tourism through adventure sports. The program was organized by Nepal Mountaineering chapter of Gandaki province.
Minister Gurung said that since Gandaki province was enriched in mountain ranges, finding markets for these mountain peaks and connecting them to the tourism sector would contribute to tourism development.
Minister also said the despite the adverse effect of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country, the Pokhara region has not had such an immense impact. He also said royalty collected from 27 peaks in the Gandaki region should be utilized to prepare tourism-related human resources and the promotion of mountains in the region.
