NMA Congratulates those appointed and elected to various posts

Kathmandu. Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) has congratulated various personalities including Chandra Rijal who has been elected as the Vice-Chairman of the Nepal Tourism Board.

Rijal is a former president of the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal. Similarly, NMA has congratulated the newly elected Nawang Nima Sherpa as the board member, newly elected working committee including Hari Prasad Dharel, president of Himalayan Rescue Association, a newly elected working committee including Everest Summiters Association president Maya Sherpa, newly-elected working committee chairperson Kailash, tourist guide Badri Nepal.

Speaking on the occasion, the newly-appointed vice-chairman of the board, Rijal, said that the government and the private sector should work together to bring tourism on the right track which remained crippled due to Covid-19. “Some may walk at 19, some at 20, but our destination is the same,” he said. “It is our responsibility to correct any shortcomings in tourism.”

NMA president Santbir Lama said that the development of the tourism sector should be done by shaking hands with each other. “No matter where we come from, we are tourism workers,” he said. “The NMA wants to move forward with both the public and private sectors.” The program was moderated by General Secretary Kul Bahadur Gurung and welcomed by Secretary Tikaram Gurung.
