Rara Tal Sees More Tourists Coming In

Khalanga: Rara tal, located in Mugu district of Karnali province, is considered as a tourist attraction of the country. Rara tal is one of the places visited by domestic and foreign tourists during this season.
On the occasion of the New Year, the activity of internal and external tourists has increased in Raratal, a major tourist destination of the country. With the New Year just a few days away, the number of tourists coming to Rara by air and road has increased.
Rara National Park Information Officer Yagya Raj Rokaya said that the Rara area is overflowing with domestic tourists. “Tourists from Milichaur, Salleri, Talchal, and other villages are flocking to Rara,” he said.
Although there are two tourist hotels around Rara, there is a problem in keeping enough tourists. Rabin Dahal of Nepalgunj, who came to visit Rara, said that there was a problem in staying in Rara due to a lack of good hotels.
As the number of tourists in Rara has increased, hoteliers, horse traders, and boatmen have also started flocking to Rara. According to local devotee Rokaya, the tourists are taken on horseback to Murma, Zyari, Pina, Sigadi, Mathitum and other villages.
The number of tourists visiting Rara has started increasing from the second week of April on the occasion of the New Year, said Rokaya, information officer of the park. He said, “In the eight months of the current fiscal year, 4,409 domestic and foreign tourists have visited Raratal. Of them, seven are foreign tourists and the rest are Nepali tourists.
” It has been one year since the spread of Corona in Nepal and the number of foreign tourists has decreased due to Corona, said Rokaya. According to him, after Covid-19, the number of domestic tourists coming from different districts of Nepal is more than the number of foreign tourists.
He said, “Since the beginning of April, the hotels in Rara have been flooded with tourists. More than 150 domestic tourists visit Rara daily. In the first eight months of the current fiscal year, Rara National Park has collected revenue of Rs. 1 million 13 thousand 780 under various headings.
The park has stated that the revenue collection has also decreased due to the decrease in the number of foreign tourists compared to the past. The number of tourists visiting Rara has also increased after the Nagma-Gamgadi road was widened and graveled recently.
The number of tourists coming by air is also increasing as there are two / three regular flights to Mugu. Lately, people have been coming to visit Rara from Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Pokhara, Biratnagar, and other places by reserving vehicles.
