Prabal Janasewashri IV confered on NMA chairamn Lama
Kathmandu. President of Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) Sant Bir Lama has been awarded Prabal Janasewa Shri IV by the President Vidhya Devi Bhandari.
The decoration was presented to Lama at a function held at the President’s residence Sheetal Niwas on Friday.
Lama has been involved in trekking and mountaineering for more than three decades.
He was awarded for his contribution to the development of Nepal’s mountain tourism sector and for his social service.
Having been at various levels of NMA for nearly a decade and a half, he has contributed to the promotion of Nepal’s mountain tourism in the international arena and to establish fraternal relations with foreign organizations in the region.
Mingma Gelu Sherpa, a mountaineer who contributed to the mountain tourism sector along with Lama, and late. Angchiring Sherpa has also been awarded Prabal Janasewashri IV.
In Friday’s program, the President has conferred various honorary titles, decorations and medals on 633 people for their contributions to the society and the country.
