PM Oli inaugurates reconstructed historic Dharahara Tower

Kathmandu:  Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has finally inaugurated the newly reconstructed historic tower of Dharahara Saturday which is considered to be the main pride of the nation.

While speaking during the formal inaugural function, PM Oli said, “As I went upstairs, I felt as if I was on Eiffel Tower.”
He also further made rhetoric about the newly constructed 22 storey tower by saying that it is more beautiful, attractive, and stronger than the previous one and that it has been constructed as per the original design.
PM Oli also gave assurance to the huge audience present on the occasion that the Dharahara tower will never again fell like the previous one in the catastrophic earthquake of 20215.

Authorities said though Dharahara tower has been inaugurated, however, the people will have to wait for at least one month before it could become fully operational and people could get permits to get inside the tower for fun, excitement, and wonderful moments since some works are still pending to be completed.

The experts said that the old Dharahara had 11 stories of which two stories crumbled in the 1990 earthquake, after that only nine stories were left which also fell in the 2015 earthquake. But this newly constructed Dharahara is reconstructed with 22 stories.
It is said that an estimated cost of Rs 34,800,000 has been invested in its reconstruction.
