Hustle and bustle increase as prohibitory orders get relaxed in Kathmandu Valley
Food and vegetable shops have started opening till 11 am and the traffic has also started increasing. The prohibitory orders imposed simultaneously in all the three districts will remain in force till 12 noon on June 21.
A joint meeting of the Chief District Officers (CDOs) of the three districts of the Kathmandu Valley (Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur) held on June 12 had decided to extend the restrictive orders from June 13 to 21.
The orders stipulate a time limit of 11 am for buying/selling essential food items. Earlier, it was open only till 9 o’clock. The goods will be transported only from 9 pm to 11 am. Bookstores and printing presses are also open until 11 a.m. Development Construction Materials Stores, Cement, Electricity, Sanitary, Hardware Stores can be operated only after 4 pm and large quantities can be transported only at night.
Online delivery of essential items and home delivery service will be available. For that, it is open only till 7 pm. The vehicle maintenance center will be allowed to operate till 9 pm. It is ordered that agriculture can be carried out using the health standards issued by the Government of Nepal and the necessary fertilizers, seeds, and agricultural implements can be easily transported.
For the operation and construction of essential industries, it has been asked to operate by hiring workers in compliance with health standards. Transportation of construction materials will be available only from 9 pm to 5 am.
Reading can be done online. Banks and financial institutions will be able to operate services by mobilizing the limited number of manpower. The Insurance Committee, Insurance Company, and Securities Board will be able to operate alternately with 20 percent manpower.
It is mentioned in the order that cooperatives and remittances will be allowed to operate on Sundays and Thursdays of the week. The wedding can be attended by up to seven people and only one vehicle can be used, but the wedding has been banned at the party palace. Other congestion activities will be completely banned and the rest will be as mentioned in the previous order.
