Int’l flights to resume and’Smart lockdown’ to be enforced’

Kathamndu: Smart lockdown is to be enforced and international flights are to be resumed from June 22 according to the Covid-19 Management Directorate Committee.

The second meeting of the committee on Wednesday decided to enforce smart lockdown and at the same time resume international flights to Qatar, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Japan, and Malaysia including production, and supply of essential commodities.

The committee decision has concluded that some areas should be opened after evaluating the situation by adopting appropriate safety protocols.

The meeting was held under the leadership of the Prime Minister and Chairman of the Committee KP Sharma Oli in Baluwatar. The meeting also decided to provide financial assistance to the workers who cannot stay in the hotel quarantine due to various reasons. The government will manage hotel quarantine amounts for up to 10 days as they are required to stay in quarantine for a total of 15 days at least.
