Capital Valley lockdown eased, private vehicles allowed to ply

Kathmandu: The ongoing lockdown period to curb Covid-19 in the capital city of Kathmandu valley has been extended for another week until June 28 with ease modality.

A meeting of Chief District Officers (CDOs) of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur on Sunday evening decided to ease the restrictive orders by following a new modality of allowing private vehicles to ply on the roads on odd and even basis.

The previous extension order was set to expire on Monday midnight. The meeting of district authorities has also decided to allow various shops to open by following safety protocols on the assigned dates provided that these shops open from 11 am to 4pm only.

The following is the date for opening various shops and stores.

Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday

– Electronics

– Home Applicances

– Gold/Silver (jewelry)

– Utensils

– Automobile and parts

Monday, Wednesday, Friday

– Shopping Malls

– Clothes/ Garments

– Shoes

– Cosmetics

– Sports-goods

– Gift shops

– Tailoring shops, boutiques

Shops related to fruits and vegetables will be open until 11 am only.
