110 hotels designated to quarantine those returning from abroad

Kathmandu; The government has allowed a total of 110 hotels to quarantine passengers returning from abroad.

According to the Department of Tourism, a total of 110 hotels have been designated as quarantines, including 27 registered with the department and 83 registered with the Bagmati Valley Tourism Office.

The hotel branch of the department submitted the list of hotels to Covid 19 Crisis Management Center on Sunday. The Tourism Board has been given the responsibility of managing the hotel quarantine in the last order issued by the Government of Nepal regarding the management of passengers arriving in Nepal from abroad.

Five-star to tourist hotels

According to the department, the designated hotels include five-star hotels and resort-level tourist hotels. Earlier, the Thamel area was said to be densely populated and the quarantine was not to be set up.

According to the department, four five-star hotels including Hyatt Regency, The Soaltee Kathmandu, Kathmandu Marriott Hotel, and Radisson will accommodate quarantine passengers. Gokarna Forest Resort, Club Himalaya (Nagarkot), Summit Hotel, and Airport Hotel are also on the list.

The government has opened air travel to certain destinations. Accordingly, passengers coming from abroad without vaccination should stay in quarantine in Nepal. Passengers coming from Gulf countries are allowed to come to Nepal even if they do not book a hotel.

However, after their arrival in Nepal, they have to stay in quarantine at the designated hotel at their own expense. Those returning from foreign employment can go home after 5 days of PCR test and negative report.
