Kathmandu: A group of tourism entrepreneurs including airlines operators has collectively urged the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) to focus on digital marketing so as to revive the ailing tourism in Nepal.
Speaking during a program, the tourism operators suggested that the NTB should focus on digital marketing in the wake of the low optimism of tourist arrival in Nepal following the fear of Covid-19 in the country.
Various speakers said that Nepal should continue to keep abreast of Nepal’s status of tourism activities through digital marketing by ensuring inoculation against Covid-19 and other health protocols.
Janak Rupakheti, Director of Nepal Airlines Corporation, said that it was necessary to emphasize international connectivity along with digital marketing.
Abdullah Tuncer, General Manager of Turkish Airlines’ Nepal office, said that the reduced number of foreign tourist arrivals in Nepal is due to limited flights and Nepal’s stance on health standards.
He also added that foreign tourists can arrive in Nepal if the health standards and high airfares are revised and a clear message is conveyed that Nepal is ready to welcome them.
