Nepal be declared ‘open to tourists’: Tourism enterpreneurs
Kathmandu: All Nepali tourism industry-aligned entrepreneurs in an interaction program held Monday have univocally demanded that the government should declare the country “open to tourists ” putting in the argument that the adverse impact of Covid-19 has subsided in the country.
Most of the speakers speaking during the program expressed their strong opinions in favor of opening the country for foreign tourists so that the already crippled tourism sector can recuperate.
“Nepal is a safe destination for tourists now as the coronavirus infection rate is decreasing and most of the workers in the industry have been vaccinated,” said the entrepreneurs.
The tourism entrepreneurs also stressed the need to remove all quarantine provisions for fully vaccinated tourists and provide on-arrival visas. They also insisted the government publicize outside that Nepal is a safe destination for foreigners.
Similarly speaking during the same program, Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal General Secretary Sarita Lama warned the upcoming peak tourism season (September-November) could be hit if the government remained indecisive in this case.
