On arrival visas, increased number of tourists

The Nepal Tourism Board has stated that the arrival of ‘on arrival visas’ for foreign tourists has had a positive impact on tourist arrivals.
According to the data provided by the board, foreign tourist arrivals almost doubled in September this year. About 10,000 tourists came in September, compared to an average of 5,000 in August. According to the board, 9,974 foreign tourists have visited Nepal in September.
6942 foreigners have left Nepal that month. This number is only for tourists entering Nepal by air. Last month, 5,919 foreign tourists had entered Nepal. In the first nine months of 2021, 76913 foreign tourists have entered Nepal.
This number is from January to September of the year. The Covid epidemic has led to a decline in foreign tourist arrivals.
A total of 548 tourists had visited Nepal in September 2020. Before Covid-19, 92,604 tourists had visited Nepal in September 2019 alone.
