Eight youth climbers scale Mt Mardi
Kaski: Eight youth climbers representing Machhapuchchhre Rural Municipality-1 of Kaski district are reported to have successfully scaled Mt. Mardi ( 5587m).
Mt Mardi in recent days has become the main choice of domestic as well as foreign climbers as it is elevated below 6000 meters.
The youth climbers seem to have summited the mountain in order to promote mountaineering and trekking as well since they are engaged in tourism activities.
The team of youths comprising of 26 members had embarked upon the expedition of Mt Mardi on September 28 under the leadership of tourism entrepreneur Ram Prasad Gurung of which eight youths climbed the peak at 9.3 am on October 3.
The successful climbers are Saroj Kumar Gurung, Sanjaya Thapa, Narayan Gurung, Sudip Tamang, Binod Pun, Bishal Magar, Ishwor Pariyar, and Amrit Pun.
