Kala Pathar Trekking

Trekking in Kala Pathar- elevated at a height of 5,643 m -is one of the best trekking destinations that come along with Mt Everest Base camp trekking in Nepal.

This trek offers you easy access to the Sagarmatha national park. Trekking in Kala Pathar is the same as Everest Base camp trekking as it can be combined while making a trekking trip plan.

The trekkers can enjoy the mirthful environment and different life experiences as they pass through the wilderness side trip and less frequented tail.

This trekking trail traverses through the heart of the Himalaya following the river bank, Sherpa villages, amazing mountain scenery, rare tantalizing flora, and fauna.

Various sights of ancient Sherpa culture, century-old Buddhist monastery, and Chorten will mesmerize any travelers while passing through this trek.

Fear will pass through your spine as you cross the fearful suspension bridges lying across the raging rivers but will give you joy, fun, and excitement of crossing them too.

As you travel through the Sagarmatha National Park, you will be fascinated by the sight of Himalayan goats such as Thar, musk dear, colorful birds, snow leopards and sometimes coming face to face with mysterious creatures like Yeti.

Breathtaking mountains, glimpses of Khumbu iceball, glacier lakes will give you enough excitement and fun while having this trekking.

The trek to Kala Pathar begins as soon as you land at Lukla airport from Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. Then walk through the Sherpa Villages; Chaurikharka, Ghat, Phakding, Manjo often following Dhudha Koshi Riverbank and pine and Rhododendron forest.

Usually, most of the tourists, trekkers take full rest at Namche Bazaar to acclimatize the body properly before getting in high elevation. You can also make your shopping of trekking pieces of equipment here before heading for your destinations.

Visiting Sagarmatha National Park information center, Sherpa Museum, Monastery, Everest View Hotel, Syangbuche, Khumjung Village for Yeti Skull could be a fun and rich experience for a trekker on this route.

Then pass through the Tengboche, Pangbuche, Dingboche village. Gorekshep is the last teahouse of this trekking route. The view from Kalapathar is unbelievable, as this is one of the best viewpoints in the Everest region.

Many other mountains can see from here, especially Mt. Everest view from the nearest distance. Except freezing cold, sunrise and sunset view is best from Kalapathar.

You can come down the same trail till Pangbuche and taking an alternative trail to the Porche village to avoid crowds. It is better to take local guides to make your trip hassle-free.  Once you return to Lukla airport, you can fly to Kathmandu for your return to your home country.

The best season could be the months of March-May and Sept to November. This trek can be accomplished in 18 days. However, it can be tailored for 10 days also. Helicopters can also be used.
