UNWTO extends support to Nepal’s Tourism

Kathmandu: The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) officials have assured Nepal of their continued support to Nepal’s tourism development. 

The UNWTO top-notch officials at a meeting with Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) Dr. Dhananjay Regmi held during the Asia Pacific Region’s Tourism Policy and Strategy in the Maldives recently expressed their continued support. This was stated in a press release circulated by NTB.

The CEO Dr. Regmi had met with UNWTO Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili and Director of Regional Department for Asia and the Pacific Harry Hwang on tourism recovery and other pressing issues of tourism in the post-COVID-19 situation. 

“UNWTO officials are willing to support Nepal’s sustainable tourism development, natural and mountaineering tourism development, and institutional capacity enhancement,” said Dr. Regmi, the press release stated. 

The UNWTO officials also expressed their commitment to organize few programs in the Asia Pacific Region in Nepal in 2023, said Regmi.
