NAC fixes airfare for far-western districts

Kathmandu: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has fixed airfares to operate flights in the far-western hill districts following the closure of roads due to excessive rainfall.

Ram Krishna Bhatta, chief of Dhangadhi Airport, divulged that the airfare from Dhangadhi to Doti is Rs 2,615 and from Doti to Dhangadhi is Rs 2,515, from Dhangadhi to Bajhang is Rs 3,995 and from Bajhang to Dhangadhi Rs 3,895.

The test flights would be conducted on Sunday (today) to operate flights in the hill districts based on Dhangadhi as the passenger flow has increased.

NAC has also published the schedule for the flights from Dhangadhi to the hill districts. Since the NAC airfares are cheaper, locals are reported to have demanded more regular flights in the hilly regions of far western as a flight of one airline is creating problems for the passengers heading to their destinations.

Many passengers such as students and employees from Kathmandu, Pokhara, Dhangadhi, Nepalgunj, and other districts returning to their job places are stranded at several places and find it difficult to reach their destinations in time as most of the highways get blocked due to recent rainfall and landslides.
