Summer Ski festival to be hosted in Mardi region

Kathmandu: The Sustainable Himalayan Fund is going to hold a Summer Ski festival in the Mardi Himalayan region to promote ski and adventure tourism.

The weeklong festival starting from February 10, 2022, is known as the “Great Himalayan Ski Tour” according to officials of the Himalayan Fund.

Earlier, a similar event was held in Manaslu, Kalinchowk, and other places, said Ram Bahadur Thapa, chairperson of the organization.

An insurance package equivalent to Rs 220,000 has been arranged for all participants of the festival.

Observers and mountaineers opined that such events will certainly add to a new dimension of adventure tourism in the country.
