Valley Museums to shut down from Saturday
Kathmandu: All museums in the capital will be closed from Saturday as new variants of the coronavirus pose a major threat and spread like a wildfire.
A meeting of the Chief District Officers of all the three districts of the Kathmandu Valley on Thursday decided to close all the museums.
Sandeep Khanal, head of the office at Hanumandhoka Durbar Museum, said that the museum, which has been operating till date, is being prepared to close from Saturday owing to the increasing fear of Covid-19.
The capital has Hanumandhoka Durbar Museum as well as museums including National Museum, Currency Museum, Narayanhiti Durbar Museum, Bhaktapur, and Patan Durbar Museum.
Most of these museums will be shut down from Saturday as the government decides to close all crowded offices in the wake of escalating cases of Omicron virus in the country.
