Regular Paragliding begins in Surkhet

Surkhet: Surkhet has initiated operation of regular paragliding flights with effect from Sunday in order to encourage arrival of both domestic and foreign tourists.

The main venue for paragliding flight has been chosen at Bayalkanda and Deutithan of Birendranagar Municipality-14 and 1, respectively. This activity is expected to promote adventure tourism in Karnali Province.

Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has permitted Welcome Paragliding Pvt Ltd to operate this adventure sports for one year. Babu Adventure in Pokhara is also collaborating with Welcome Paragliding Pvt in this joint venture.

As many as 12 paragliding pilots have ben hired and assigned the job of operating these adventure sports.

The flight fee is fixed at Rs 3,500 per person. A group of five people can enjoy a flight for Rs 3,200 in a package. Similarly, a group of 10 people has to pay Rs 2,800 and a group of more than 10 people should pay Rs 2,500.

Additional charge of Rs 1,000 is taken for taking photos and videos during flight, set for 20 minutes.
