Kathmandu: Nepal government’s Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation has officially shut down the Nepalgunj-based Dreamland Hotel for indulging in defaulting royalty over Rs 3.8 million for the operation of a casino business.

The Dreamland Hotel is reported to have been closed down at the direct direction of the Minister Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Prem Bahadur Ale.

Miniter Ale said the hotel was shut down for not paying Rs 381 million that the hotel owed to the government of Nepal for a protracted period of time despite repeated attempts to remind the hotel for clearing its due royalty.
