All is well for Maha Shivaratri festival

PADT has informed that all kinds of arrangements essential to complete the process of preparations include the arrangement of light systems in and around the Pashupatinath temple during the festival.

Among others include preparation of security arrangements, sandalwood, accommodation, food, saintly hospitality, religious programs, sanitation, footwear management, health care, and volunteer mobilization have been completed.

The PADT authorities also confirmed that despite the dwindling cases of Covid-19 cases in the country, safety measures will be followed strictly to avoid spreading spree of the lethal disease during the festival.

Shivaratri festival brings over a dozen of “Sadhus” or saints whose arrival at the Pashupatinath temple premises prior to the beginning of the Hindu festival indicates towards the upcoming Shivaratri festival.

Most of the virgin girls and married women queue up early in the morning of Shivaratri at the Pashupatinath temple to offer their worship to Lord Shiva or Kirateswor so as to fulfill their wishes.

A bulk portion of tourists come to attend this festival from India too. Foreigners living in Kathmandu can also enjoy this festival full of hustle and bustle.
