Foreign national arrested for paragliding without permission
Kathmandu: A foreign national has been arrested for paragliding without permission. The foreigner arrested is Philip Jellner, 32, of Austria.
According to Police Spokesperson and Inspector Darshan Khadka, Jellner was arrested from the hill of Dry Fruit Development Center at Dasharathchanda Municipality-1, Musyachaur.
He had been paragliding illegally in Musyachaur area and Purchaundi area of the district. Khagendra Bharti, information officer at the district administration office, said that he was arrested for paragliding without permission even though permission was required for the paragliding flight.
Jellner has a license to paraglide in Austria but no permit for Nepal, Bharti said. He has a tourist visa to stay in Nepal till March 30. He has been sent to the Civil Aviation Office, Dhangadhi today for necessary action.
