NAC wide body aircraft making test flight at Gautam Buddha Int’l Airport

Kathmandu: The Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has conducted an ‘operational test flight’ at the Gautam Buddha International Airport (GBIA) on April 28, Thursday.

The NAC’s A330 wide-body aircraft took off from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) at 3:00 pm and landed at GBIA, Bhairahawa of Lumbini- the second international airport in a successful manner

The test flight was for a 45-minute and was a historic one after 74 years of the establishment of the first airport in Kathmandu.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) authorities, the operationalization of GBIA  has not only been historic but also of paramount importance and achievement for Nepal to gain momentum for the increased arrival of foreign tourists.

The CAAN sources also confirmed that the commercial flights from across the world and Nepal will be fully operational from May 16 at this second international airport. Jazeera Airlines has already been permitted to land and take off from this airport.
