First foreigner climber to summit Everest 16 times

Kathmandu: A British climber Kenton Cool has become the first foreigner climber to summit Mt Everest 16 times Sunday, thereby creating a world record.

Last year only, Cool had shared the record of the most summits along with American Dave Hahn. This year he broke the record and gained his own record for climbing the highest peak the 16 times.

Cool has been guiding the high-altitude climbers in the past. In 2013, he had earned the reputation of being the first person to complete the Everest Triple Crown, climbing the peak of Everest, Nuptse, and Lhotse in one push from the base camp.

Cool has also led clients to the summit of K2, the world’s second-highest mountain in the world.
