190,739 tourists visited Nepal in last five months

Kathmandu: As many as 190,739 foreign tourists have visited Nepal in the first five months of 2022.

According to the Department of Immigration, 53,608 tourists arrived in May while the number of arrivals in April was 58,384.

Meanwhile, Nepal Tourism Board Director Maniraj Lamichhane divulged that the country’s tourism sector is gradually recovering.

He also added saying that the number of tourist arrival in Nepal nowadays is around 75 percent as compared to the previous year 2021, when the tourism industry was totally crippled due to the widespread contagious effect of the Covid-19.
